Paonia
Ezrine has been active in the computer field since the late
80's. From the beginning, her focus has been on servers and
the client machines they serve. Over time, though much has
changed, the fundamental building blocks, those of being a
system administrator/engineer/analyst, have stayed the same.
A background in analysis and creative problem solving allows
Paonia to step into technical situations and successfully
address them, regardless of whether the specific technology
involved is already familiar to her, or not.
She
became interested in Open Source software (specifically Linux)
during a time in her life when most of her work was being
done with Non-Profit organizations who could not afford the
hardware and software needed for the commercial operating
systems of the time. As her clientele grew to include educational
institutions and businesses, she continued to focus on open
source solutions whenever appropriate.
In
her free time, besides reading and enjoying Vermont, she is
the technical lead of the Furthur project (www.furthurnet.org),
an Open Source peer2peer network for sharing legally trade-able
music.
